Job summary
We are currently looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and dynamic Health Care Support Worker to join the progressive and dedicated Day Surgery Services team at University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust, based in the Day of Surgery Unit at the Poole site.
The Day of Surgery ward incorporates an Admissions and a Day Surgery Unit.
The service is currently open Monday to Friday 07:00-20:00, although there are plans to extend opening hours and 6 day working.The successful candidate will be responsible for admitting and preparing patients for theatre ensuring that local policy is adhered to, caring for patients post-operatively. and the ability to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service.
The successful candidate will require excellent communication skills and a commitment to maintaining and developing high standards. A friendly and patient-centred approach is vital to this exciting role. Previous experience in the health service or Day Surgery setting is not essential as training will be provided.

The post holder is responsible for assessment of care needs of patients with direct supervision.
