Job summary
  With a multi-million-pound investment, UHD is a recently formed 1000 bed Trust comprised of Poole Hospital, Royal Bournemouth & Christchurch Hospitals in partnership with Bournemouth University. The 30-bed haematology in-patient unit, including the established JACIE accredited autologous transplant unit will be housed at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital (major acute & emergency hospital) from April 2024 which also has day case chemotherapy and outpatient facilities. Poole Hospital is being developed as the major planned/elective care hospital and will have day case chemotherapy and outpatient facilities.
 We currently run dedicated CLL, lymphoma, WM, myeloma, MDS & MPN clinics. We have representation on the NCRI MDS, MPN, Myeloma & CLL subgroups, and UK Myeloma society, UK CLL forum and UK MDS forum executive committees and are actively involved in writing BSH national guidelines.
 We are recruiting to a Haemato-oncology consultant post (10PA)

  Main duties of the job
  The successful candidates will join our friendly team of haemato-oncology consultants and participate in a 1:13 rota supported by a 2 tiered SHO and SpR junior doctor on call rotas.
 We have an active JACIE accredited transplant centre for Dorset autologous stem cell transplants and we network with the university hospitals Southampton transplant team who provide the allogeneic & CART-cell service for our patients.
 At UHD we are proud of the service we offer our patients including access to an extensive clinical trial portfolio and novel treatment delivery approaches with a strong home care & community chemotherapy team. We intend to expand our service and would welcome candidates interested in further developing our bispecific antibody programme. We expect all colleagues to take an active role in clinical research and encourage consultants to take on local PI & CI roles in their sub-speciality interest.
 We have strong links with Southampton & Bournemouth universities and there is the opportunity of collaborative research. We currently have 1 PhD student based in the Dorset Pathology Hub which has recently opened on the Bournemouth site & houses the Dorset HMDS.
