Job summary

An exciting opportunity for a Trauma and Orthopaedic Consultant Secretary to join the Trauma and Orthopaedics Directorate at University Hospitals Dorset (UHD).Trauma and Orthopaedics is a large, well established service.Trauma and paediatric orthopaedic surgery is currently undertaken on the Poole Site, home to the largest fragility fracture centre in Europe with over 1200 patients attending per year requiring Neck of Femur surgery and a trauma bed base of over 100 beds.

Expectations of the role: The successful candidate will join our well established team and it is hoped they will be able to start as soon as possible.

Base Location: Poole Hospital and Royal Bournemouth Hospital (Cross site working will be part of transformation of department)

Main duties of the job

  • Reporting to the Rota and Staffing Manager, the role comprises of providing a full and comprehensive secretarial service to the trauma and orthopaedic consultants and their medical teams.

Poole until site swap when trauma will move to RBH

Please note if the role or service is relocated as part of a planned move, employees will not be eligible for excess mileage reimbursement. Travel from the postholder's home to the new work base will be considered a normal commute. Any other changes not related to this relocation will be managed according to the relevant Trust or National terms and conditions.
