Women and Children Deputy Lead Pharmacist

Job summary

An exciting and unique opportunity has arisen for a highly experienced and driven hospital pharmacist to come and join the Pharmacy team at University Hospitals Dorset as our deputy lead for Women and Children.

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing a clinical pharmacy service to patients across the directorate. Working both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team as needed your expertise will be crucial in ensuring the maximum efficacy, safety, and value for money of drug therapy, while demonstrating professional accountability in enhancing patient care.

Currently the Neonatal and maternity units are on the Royal Bournemouth site and the Paediatric unit is on the Poole site but is transitioning to Royal Bournemouth site early 2026.

Most of this role you will work closely with the MDT, providing quality pharmaceutical care to paediatrics, neonates and maternity services. Attendance at externally provided training courses will also be supported.

Weekend shifts 1 in 5 (either Saturday or Sunday) and approximately one Bank Holiday shift per year.

This role requires GPhC Registration.

Base Location: Cross site working at Royal Bournemouth and Poole Hospital

The job role includes working on a weekend daytime and weekday late night service are part of a rota.
