Radiology is a welcoming department , keen to improve and provide a quality service.This position is instrumental in achieving this ambition.

Main duties of the job

To manage and supervise the accreditation processes (QSI) in the radiology services, carrying out the required management and leadership tasks to support the accreditation processes.

To take responsibility for the service's QSI implementation and accreditation programme, as delegated by the Head of Imaging Services.

To lead in the development and advancement of the department's quality agenda, emphasising the implementation of evidence-based knowledge into practice in consultation with the service leads.

Respond promptly as required to complaints and incidents, develop and participate in appropriate investigations and action plans in line with clinical governance.

Act as an expert resource for Quality Standard for Imaging within the department.

Lead in the development and advancement of the QSI and quality agenda, emphasising the implementation of evidence-based knowledge into practice.

Be a visible, accessible, and assertive point of contact for staff, co-ordinating the accreditation process for the Diagnostic Imaging Departments across the Trust.

Proactively seek feedback on patient and public experiences and act on local and national recommendations as required to support the quality agenda.

Work to ensure that high standards of patient care are in place and audited accordingly.

Facilitate the development of clear action plans to address any deficiencies and ensure agreed actions are implemented and evaluated, and to ensure standardisation, consistency, and best practice across Radiology services.

Ensure that audit recommendations in Radiology are implemented.

Draw upon significant experience of working at a senior level within radiology services to embed the governance and quality agenda across the department.

Be aware of the legal responsibilities of a radiology service to patients, service users, and staff.

Demonstrate well developed leadership skills, be able to set SMART objectives and hold people to account.

Chair the monthly UHD Radiology Quality Forum and provide reports for the UHD Radiology Quality and Risk meeting.

  • oPost graduate experience at masters level within relevant discipline or demonstrable experience at a senior level in a radiology department or as a quality manager

Desirable

  • Degree or equivalent in Radiography

  • oProven oral, written, presentational and communication skills. oAbility to present complex information effectively to a variety of audiences.
  • oExperience as an effective team leader, demonstrating leadership skills and the ability to motivate others.
  • oPrevious audit experience
