Who are we looking for:

Enthusiastic and motivated individuals with an appetite to learn, who can offer some flexibility as we grow our MSK FCP offer to fit with the demands of the organisation and local population.

We have FCP hours available within a Bournemouth Primary Care Networks.

We recognise the growing preference of maintaining links with MSK outpatient therapy services and secondary care, we support flexibility in roles, and we promote the importance of a good work life balance. Main duties of the job

Provide clinical expertise as first contact, making decisions about the best course of action for patients' care. This will involve seeing patients, without prior contact with their GP or Consultant. Practitioners will use their clinical-reasoning skills to undertake an assessment of the presenting problem, interpret findings, develop working and differential diagnoses, and formulate, communicate and implement management plans that take account of individuals' needs, goals and wishes, local service availability and relevant local and national guidelines and policies.

Responsibility for the management of a mixed MSK caseload referred to Physiotherapy from both primary and secondary care. You will supervise and support a team of rotational physiotherapists as they pass through their MSK rotations at both Band 6 and Band 5 levels.

About us

Our values define who we are as #TeamUHD. They underpin everything we do now and in the future. They define how we treat our patients, visitors, and each other, our valued teammates and colleagues.

UHD are investing in services across the Trust, with many being transformed and developed following merger and the New Hospital Programme. This means that some services may move site this year or next, either temporarily or long term. Recruiting Managers interviewing for this role will be happy to answer any specific questions that you have about this at interview.

University Hospitals Dorset has been created from the merger of Poole and Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Trusts. Dorset also benefits from two local Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) offering close affiliation for health care professionals in the local area.

  • A role split between FCP practice and MSK therapy
  • A fully supported supervision and training programme with great links with secondary care services.
  • Supported non-clinical time.
