Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity to join the Women's Health Gynaecology Team at University Hospitals Dorset (UHD) working within the new Emergency Gynaecology Assessment Unit at Bournemouth Hospital. You will be working with a highly skilled team of nurses/ midwives, HCSWs and clinicians caring for ambulatory patients with a range of acute gynaecological conditions.

We are looking for a highly motivated and compassionate registered nurse/ midwife who is experienced in gynaecology or acute care delivery. The successful candidate will have advanced communication skills and be experienced in dealing with deteriorating patients and those who are distressed and in pain. This is being offered as a 12 month post during the service transformation.We are keen to develop this service and will be looking at how to develop the role and workforce over the next 12 months. Please speak to your line manager if you would like to do this as a secondment opportunity.

Our UHD gynaecology service is currently in the process of transformation to build a service that will better meet the needs of the local population. The post holder will play a key role in influencing transformation within the team; making this is an exciting time to join us as we move forwards together.

Currently the service will be Monday to Friday, covering opening hours of 8 - 6. There may be the need for occasional weekends.
