Ward Hostess - Lytchett Ward

Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Lytchett Ward within the Older People's Services at UHD-Poole, for the position of Ward Support Assistant/Hostess

We are looking for a motivated individual to support meal delivery and drinks rounds and general duties to support our ward teams.

If you have excellent communication skills and a compassionate manner and want to make a difference to older people, this position will be well suited.

The successful applicant will need to be able to use their own initiative as well as take instructions from the nursing team.

The wards are busy environments, from which the applicant will need to be able to manage their time effectively as well as work within infection control requirements.

Please note: if this job requires you to have a DBS check to enable you to properly fulfil the requirements of the job, on appointment you will be required to repay the cost of obtaining a DBS check and this amount will be reclaimed from your salary.

The role would require you to work Monday to Friday, and hours would be 07:00-15:00.

Base Location: Poole Hospital

There is a possible move for this servicewhen this role and base of work will relocate to Bournemouthsite. in 2025. Upon relocation of the role/service, excess mileage allowance / reimbursement will not apply, and any travel between the post holder's home and work base will be classified as a commute. Any other changes unrelated to this, will be handled in line with Trust/National terms and conditions.
