Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to act as centralised point of contact for patients in our busy Dermatology cancer Team, working with Consultants and Nurse teams on an exciting pilot that we are launching for AI in skin lesions

Duties will include managing databases, administrative duties to support the pathway, communicating effectively with members of the multidisciplinary team and relevant personnel from other Hospital Trusts to avoid delays in pathways and to keep service users informed at all times

The successful applicant will be required to be proactive in seeking ways to improve the patient pathway within agreed timeframes and highlight any potential delays in investigations/diagnosis throughout the patient pathway and escalate appropriately.

This is a 1 Year Fixed Term position working Monday - Friday 9am to 5pm.

Base Location: Christchurch Hospital or Poole Hospital

Qualifications

Essential

  • 5 GCSE's including Maths and English at grade C or equivalent

Desirable

  • Level 3 Health or Social Care qualification e.g. NVQ or similar
  • Basic Communication Skills Training (e.g. Sage/Thyme) / basic counseling

Experience

Essential

  • Minimum of two years' experience working with the public / patients in a healthcare environment
  • Previous administrative and organisational experience

Desirable

  • Knowledge and experience of using Trust IT/patient record/information systems, e.g. ICS, ICE, WebV, Winscribe, CRIS
  • Experience of working in a hospital environment
  • Previous experience working within a cancer service

Technical Skills Competencies

Essential

  • Excellent listening and negotiation skills
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, with ability to communicate on a daily basis with people at all levels and in difficult circumstances
  • Ability to retrieve information from a wide range of sources and in different formats
