Job summary
Are you an experienced physicist with detailed knowledge and experience of medical physics?
We're looking for a healthcare science specialist in diagnostic radiology physics to join our enthusiastic team at University Hospitals Dorset. We provide physics support across our hospitals as well as SLA sites across Dorset.
You'll be the lead physicist for one of the specialist modalities such as CT, interventional or mammography, ensuring optimisation of imaging and dose in that modality. You'll have significant experience in supporting trainee physicists and providing Radiation Safety Training and possess either Medical Physics Expert (MPE) or Radiation Protection Advisor (RPA) certification.
This role has the potential to be a Band 7 development role if you don't have the sufficient experience to meet the 8A specification. Once training has been completed you'll progress to the higher band.
This role requires HCPC Registration
