Service Support Manager- Medical Rota Co-ordination

Job summary

The post holder will be a key member of the Medical Care Group managerial team, leading and supporting those within the Medical Rota Coordination Teams in ED, Cardiology, Older Persons Services and the Medical Specialties.

They will act as the technical expert for all medical staffing related activities within the allocated service area.

The post holder will take a lead role in the delivery of the medical staffing coordination function working closely with operational managers as well as Clinical leads and Directors.

The post holder will also provide day to day supervision and direction for the Medical Staffing Coordinators assigned to their service area.

Base Location: Bournemouth & Poole

Main duties of the job

Expectations of the role:

The post holder will be a key member of the Care Group Management Team, ensuring appropriate co-ordination of medical staffing cover and taking direct line management responsibility for the administrative support team within the directorate. This will only be possible through positive engagement with clinicians, clinical staff, managers, commissioners and multi-disciplinary team members to plan, develop and deliver the service the Directorate provides. By definition, this function will require close and effective joint working with the wider hospital team in support of patient management and flow, delivering on targets and providing support to the service in line with the NHS plan and the Trust's Service Improvement Agenda; and supporting achievement of key performance indicators within the specialty.
