Job summary
A new post has been created within University Hospitals Dorset as part of the Wessex Trauma Network for a major trauma coordinator. Working alongside the major trauma rehabilitation coordinator this role will be The post holder will be responsible for the day to day management of trauma patients within UHD, from their admission to the rehabilitation phase.
They will also be responsible for liaising with patients, their familiesand the wider trauma network.
In addition, there will be clinical governance duties related to the majortrauma service. The post holder will be required to contribute to theupdate of the trauma registry, participate and lead in audit and serviceimprovement projects and report, in conjunction with the major traumalead, to the Wessex Trauma Network.
This role requires AHP, Nursing or appropriate relevant professional qualification/ HCPC/ NMC Registration

Main duties of the job
- Oversight of all trauma patients in the Trust
- Keeping accurate specific records for all major trauma
- Ensuring patients have injury management plans
- In-depth understanding of trauma care and escalate issues
- Attend trauma calls when on site
- Help develop training packages working towards new major ED
- Continuous audit and implementation of positive change
