Job summary

The Acute Medical Unit are looking for enthusiastic, dynamic and highly motivated nurses, interested in all aspects of acute care.

  • Advanced/Degree In Adult Nursing

Desirable

  • Teaching Qualification
  • Post registration courses related to Acute Medicine

Experience

Essential

  • Demonstrable Clinical experience in acute medicine.

Technical Skills Competencies

Essential

  • Demonstrable experience in recognition of the deteriorating patient
  • Non IV & IV medication administration
  • The ability to assess, implement and evaluate a plan of care.
  • Basic IT Skills

Desirable

  • Venepuncture & Cannulation
  • AIMs or deteriorating patient course
  • Male Catheterisation
  • ECG recording

Knowledge

Essential

  • Demonstrate knowledge of clinical audit and clinical effectiveness.
  • Ability to demonstrate fundamental nursing knowledge and practical skills.

Desirable

  • Awareness of patient flow pathways
