Here at the university hospitals Dorset we are looking for a highly diligent conscientious professional to be our Cancer based specialist pharmacy technician.
This is an exciting opportunity for a pharmacy technician to be imbedded within our UHD clinical cancer team. Within our team we value all our team members and their development. The post holder will support the acute cancer services on the wards, and within our pharmacy clinical hub. This role directs developmental pathway for technicians interested in clinical cancer services and the national drive to have more technicians involvement in cancer services.
- Full-time (37.5 hours per week).
- Weekend shifts 1 in 5 (either Saturday or Sunday) and approximately one Bank Holiday shift per year.
Base Location: University hospital Dorset - Across Poole and Bournemouth sites

Main duties of the job
- To work alongside the Lead clinical cancer pharmacist in providing clinically accurate, timely, up to date, and evaluated information on request, to the Pharmacydepartment and Trust healthcare professionals, patients and members of the public.
- To assist in training members of Pharmacy staff that rotate through the ward area.
- To be responsible for and manage the Medicines Management servicein cancer and its future development in accordance with national,local and departmental legislation, guidelines and policies
- To be responsible for the delivery of quality care in cancer care topatients at ward level through the provision of an efficient and robustTechnician Medicines Management service.
- To supervise and co-ordinate the training of Pharmacy Technicians and assistants in Medicines Management in cancer
