Job summary
We are looking to recruit a highly motivated, technically skilled and caring Therapeutic Radiographer to join our well established Radiotherapy team at University Hospital Dorset - Poole Hospital.
Our radiotherapy service has a wide range of different modern techniques with a strong commitment to both patient care and staff development, including a well-developed competency and preceptor ship program to help new staff integrate into the service.
The department has completed a modernisation programme updating its fleet of Linacs to Varian True Beams. We have Implemented Surface Guided Radiotherapy (SGRT) and Stereotactic Ablative Radiotherapy.
Additional to our linear accelerators we have two Philips Big Bore CT scanners. Orthovoltage and both a HDR and LDR Brachytherapy service.
Poole also runs a satellite radiotherapy service in the neighbouring town of Dorchester where we operate one of our four Linacs.
Mosaiq is our Oncology management system. Eclipse for virtual simulation, registration and planning.
Main duties of the job
Full time staff currently work their contracted hours over 4 days and are given a rolling day off each week. Shift patterns include on-call at Poole and rotations to our satellite department at Dorchester. We also cover an emergency on call service on weekends.
Applicants must be educated to DCR(T)/BSc Hons or equivalent and be registered with the Health Professions Council and have post qualification experience.

- Minimum 18 months post registration experience of using sophisticated radiotherapy equipment. Treating patients using advanced techniques and competence in IGRT and IMRT technologies.
- Evidence of continuing education and professional development

- Participation in the delivery in a range of specialised techniques, i.e , IGRT, IMRT, vDIBH, SGRT
- Cannulation trained / experience In administering IV contrast media
