University Hospitals Dorset are looking for a Enhanced Clinical practitioner physiotherapist/Occupational therapist in Hand Therapy based at Christchurch Hospital.
This is a full time band 7 role based at Christchurch Hospital. The role is specifically to support the clinical development and governance of the Christchurch team but networking closely with another band 7 at Christchurch and band 7 hand therapists in Poole. There may be a requirement for working in another team site at times so flexibility is important.
We will consider a part time applicant for this role.
Rota: You will need to be available to work on Monday and Friday

Main duties of the job
The Hand Therapy team at University Hospitals Dorset (UHD) NHS Foundation Trust is part of the Clinical support services Directorate with a supportive and progressive management structure. The Trust is currently in a transformation process whereby trauma services are being centralised on the Royal Bournemouth Hospital site. Hand therapy is currently delivered in dedicated hand Units as a predominantly out- patient service at Poole Hospital and Christchurch Hospitals therapy services departments. The team is led by and Consultant Hand therapist who works across both sites. UHD transformation will offer opportunities to also work at Bournemouth Hospital. Departmental objectives are founded upon the core principles of the clinical governance framework and Trust core values (The Poole Approach). Research activity, robust evidence based practice and national guidelines drive forward our vision and direct service delivery. The team is enhanced by close working relationships with other therapy teams in the same department.
The Hand Therapy Unit is part of an acute trust treating patients referred both from primary and secondary care. The caseload is interesting and varied, and includes trauma, post- op elective orthopaedics, GP referrals and rheumatology. We have excellent working relationships with orthopaedic surgeons and rheumatologists on site, which frequently enables us to work autonomously.
