Job summary

University Hospitals Dorset are looking for two part time Fundraising Administrators, one based at Poole Hospital and one based at Bournemouth Hospital. This will be a part time role between 23.75-25 hours per week.

The purpose of this role is to provide general administrative support to the whole team as part of the day-to-day operation of the Fundraising department.

Specifically, the post holder's primary focus will be to work with and under the guidance of the Business Support Officer to support the charity funding application process and to ensure smooth operation of administrative systems for the department including financial processing and day to day utilisation of the fundraising database.

University Hospitals Dorset NHS Charity exists to enhance patient care and provide items above and beyond what NHS core funding provides.

This role is pivotal in the team providing administrative support to the whole team alongside supporting the charity funding application process

Main duties of the job

  • To support the day-to-day management of the charity shop and its volunteers
  • Support with financial processes; opening and logging post, counting and reconciling cash and cheques, inputting income on the database, running banking reports, managing petty cash; ensuring safety of money at all times
  • To process charitable funding applications through the charity governance processes, liaising with applicants, clinicians, and committee administrators as necessary
  • To work with colleagues to assist in the operation of large and small scale events, fundraising campaigns and fundraising activities. This will include handling income and the provision of charity materials.
  • Attend local fundraising activities and events as part of the wider fundraising team to encourage donations and develop greater volunteers support
  • ensure that accurate and up to date financial and supporter records are maintained and are accessible, especially with regard to input on to the database of all donor activity.
  • Provide some analysis and assessment of event and donor activity by using the fundraising database and other IT solutions
  • Ensure good stewardship of supporters
