Job summary
The Blended Education and Training (BEAT) Department at University Hospitals Dorset (UHD) is looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic registered professional for the post of Clinical Educator for Simulation to join their thriving, experienced team. This is a 12-month post to cover maternity and is 18.75 hours (0.5 WTE) with flexible working considered.
The post will be based equally at Bournemouth and Poole Hospital's in their education centres. The successful candidate will undertake a training and induction programme and be well supported by friendly, experienced colleagues within the Simulation Team.
UHD has a thriving simulation team and is ever expanding this innovative method of education. We have simulation suites at both hospital sites which are fully kitted with manikins, task trainers and audio-visual capabilities. We facilitate education for the whole spectrum of patient-facing staff including; students, nurses, support worker, doctors, physician associates and whole multidisciplinary teams.

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be passionate about delivering high quality education. Experience of supporting learners in clinical practice is needed, however, full training and support will be given in the principles of simulation based education and debrief.
The role involves the planning, development, delivery and evaluation of simulation based education for the multi-disciplinary clinical teams at UHD with the aim of facilitating the delivery of high quality safe patient care. It will involve collaboration with a variety of teams across UHD.
