It is an exciting time at University Hospitals Dorset with the recent merging of two Trusts, resulting in the upcoming new Emergency Department in the BEACH building on the Royal Bournemouth Hospital site planned for 2024/25.
Due to this expansion, we are looking to increase the size of our Majors ACP team following recent investment. We have an exciting opportunity to join our team of 3 RCEM credentialed Emergency Care Advanced Clinical Practitioners and 3 existing trainees.
We are in search of individuals who have a minimum of 3 years' experience working within the Emergency Department setting, in an existing Practitioner role and working a minimum of 30hours/week.
As a University Hospital, there are many opportunities to develop your career as an ACP. Ongoing training and education is an important aspect of the role with many teaching activities including ACP supervision, junior doctor teaching and a bespoke RCEM trainee development pathway.

Main duties of the job
Successful applicants must be willing and able to successfully undertake a MSc in ACP (if not already obtained) as well as programme of work-placed based education, culminating in credentialing as an ACP with the Royal College of Emergency Medicine (RCEM).
Successful candidates will be enrolled on an MSc Advanced Clinical Practitioner course at a local HEI, undertaking a range of clinically-focused modules in line with the requirements for the role, including independent prescribing (if not already held).
You will also attend study days, life support courses such as ALS and ETC, and regular teaching sessions within the department.
This trainee role is at Agenda for Change Band 7 with uplift to Band 8a on successful credentialing with RCEM. Therefore, the length of the training period may vary, dependent on previous experience and achievement of academic modules and RCEM competencies.
