Job summary
We are looking for an Epilepsy Nurse Specialist to support evidence-based, patient care for adults with Epilepsy.
Base Location: Poole Hospital

Main duties of the job
To assess patients, plan, implement and monitor care, facilitating best practice and evidence-based, patient-centred care for people with Epilepsy.
To facilitate patient empowerment by enabling patients with epilepsy to manage their condition effectively and independently preventing complications and improving quality of life.
To be a resource and lead on provision of highly specialist advice, education and support to other health care personnel and patients, and lead on planning, delivering and evaluating programmes of education and development for epilepsy care
To be involved in developing and maintaining high standards of care by underpinning practice with current research and evidence-based knowledge and contributing to best practice through participation in research, evaluation and development
To be actively involved in monitoring and developing the epilepsy service across Dorset, to ensure patients receive sustainable high quality care that is effective and safe
