Job summary

Applications are invited for this highly regarded fellowship - This is a replacement post. Previous post-holders have received approval for this post to form part of the SpR training programme and educational approval from the Royal College of Physicians.

The post would suit cardiology trainees with at least three years experience of general cardiology and competency in pacing procedures who wished to gain further experience in invasive electrophysiology and ablation and complex device implantation. Experience and training would be offered to the candidate in procedures according to their level of experience. Prior clinical experience in Electrophysiology would be desirable. Opportunities also exist for clinically based research.

Qualifications

Essential

  • MRCP (UK) or equivalent
  • GMC Registration

Experience

Essential

  • At least 3 years general medical experience post qualification
  • Experience working within the Cardiology Department
  • Significant experience in permanent pacing

Desirable

  • Exposure to complex device (CRT & ICD) implantation and follow-up
  • Exposure to EP-ablation procedures
  • Experience in research and publication in any field of general medicine
  • Resource management and committee work

Interpersonal Skills

  • Interest in taking part in clinical studies
