This is an exciting time to join the teams at University Hospitals of Dorset (UHD), as NHS Dorset Integrated Care System (ICS) gains greater responsibility for hospital dentistry services from 1st April 2023.
This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in the delivery of secondary care orthodontics for patients across Dorset.

Key information
- 10 PA role ;open to informal conversations regarding less than full time position or job-sharing to meet the needs of the candidate and service needs.
- Mainly based at Bournemouth Hospital with occasional travel to other UHD sites.
- Supported by an established multi-disciplinary team working with Head & Neck maxillofacial and oral-surgery colleagues and restorative dentistry.
- Work closely with the Orthodontics Service Manager and present Locum consultant who will fully support candidate to become established into the new post.

Essential Requirements for candidates before applying:
- Full GDC registration
- An MSc or DDS or equivalent
- Entry on the GDC Specialist Registrar
- Successfully completed ISFE or shortly to sit the ISFE (must be within 6 months of interview)
Information about the service:
- The post will be based at the Bournemouth Hospital Site which has a large Orthodontic department with very experienced staff, four fully equipped dental surgeries, a dental laboratory and radiology services based within the department.
- The service is focussed on treating complex multi-disciplinary patients with complex orthodontic requirements including cleft, orthognathic and hypodontia
- We have a very experienced, friendly multidisciplinary team who get on very well consisting of a locum consultant, orthodontic service manager, support manager, dental nurse manager and dental nursing team, oral health educators, specialty doctors, orthodontic therapist, medical secretaries, receptionists, laboratory technicians as well as volunteers who support the department. We work very closely with the Orthodontic teams around us at Dorset County Hospital and The Spires, Cleft Centre based in Salisbury. There is a very well established Orthodontic Managed Clinical Network with regular meetings held.
