Job summary
The Moving and Handling Risk Advisor is a vital role within the clinical practice team at University Hospital Dorset (UHD) in supporting the Falls, Moving and Handling Lead to ensure the organisation has an effective framework and infrastructure to meet the statutory and mandatory requirements relating to moving and handling legislation.
The successful candidate with be extremely passionate about moving and handling and have excellent communication skills to engage with our patients, families, carers, communities, public and clinical teams using a collaborative approach to deliver and sustain improvements in moving and handling.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will :
- Work closely with both clinical and non-clinical staff to ensure the trust achieves high standards for safe moving and handling.
- Actively promote the prevention / reduction of harm for patient moving and handling injuries in the workplace through support, evaluation and audits of incidents across the Trust.
- Co-facilitate all aspects of training in patient moving and handling trust wide.
- The post holder will have direct clinical involvement and as a member of the Chief Nursing Officer directorate and will be responsible for providing clinical advice and support for staff teams.
