Job summary

Are you an enthusiastic Senior Specialist Audiologist or Clinical Scientist looking to join a large, community-based Audiology service in Dorset? Our department operates from two main hubs in Bournemouth and Weymouth, with additional clinics across the county. This post will be primarily based at our Bournemouth site.

Working as part of the Senior Adult Audiology Team, you will support service development, help manage change, and take a lead role in managing specific aspects of the adult and vestibular services, working under the guidance and support of the Adult Clinical Lead. Clinical duties include delivering complex adult hearing pathways and supporting Advanced Audiology-led ENT clinics, including making appropriate referrals for imaging. Experience in vestibular diagnostic testing AND/OR paediatric assessment and rehabilitation is required; however, candidates without vestibular experience will be offered training to develop these skills.

Vestibular and managerial experience is desirable, but we will support suitable candidates to build their clinical and leadership capabilities as required. This is a full-time role, although part-time applications are welcomed from those able to work a minimum of three days per week.

Applications from candidates that require current Skilled worker sponsorship to work in the UK are unfortunately ineligible to apply for this position.

Main duties of the job

You will provide comprehensive diagnostic and rehabilitation services for both adult and paediatric patients. Strong communication, project-management skills, and a commitment to service improvement and quality assurance, including IQIPS, are essential. Applicants must hold BSc (Hons) Audiology, MSc with CCC in Audiology, or equivalent qualifications. Higher-level training such as CAC, STP, or HTS is desirable, particularly in vestibular diagnostics or paediatric assessment and rehabilitation. Experience running autonomous vestibular and/or paediatric assessment and hearing-aid rehabilitation clinics is required.

You will also be expected to work at outstations when required; therefore, a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle would be beneficial.

You will be required to work at our outstations at times and therefore a car driver with a full current driving license would be beneficial.
