Are you ready for a nursing role that will challenge you, grow you and genuinely make a difference every single day?

If you're an RMN who thrives in dynamic environments, values therapeutic relationships and wants to be part of a close-knit, highly skilled team -we would love to meet you.

We are proud of our safe and therapeutic ward culture. Our team is friendly, enthusiastic and genuinely supportive of one another. We work hard, we communicate openly and we value every member of the team.

And there's more! In May 2026, we're moving into a brand-new purpose-built hospital unit within St Ann's Hospital, designed to enhance therapeutic care, patient safety and staff experience. By joining us now, you'll not only become part of our established team, but you'll also help shape the culture and energy of our new environment. It's an exciting time to come on board.

In May 2026, Haven Male PICU will be relocating to a brand-new purpose-built 8-bedded unit within St Ann's, designed to enhance patient experience, safety and therapeutic engagement.

This modern environment will provide improved facilities, enhanced clinical spaces and a setting that truly supports recovery-focused care. By joining us now, you will play a key role in shaping and embedding our team culture as we transition into this new chapter.

This is a unique opportunity to be part of an established team while also contributing to the development of a newly built, forward-thinking inpatient environment.

Main duties of the job

As a nurse on Haven, you won't just "do the job" - you'll be central to the recovery journey of every patient you support.

You will:

  • Deliver high-quality, person-centred nursing care to patients detained under the Mental Health Act

  • Lead shifts and act as a role model within a skilled multidisciplinary team

  • Build meaningful therapeutic relationships during times of crisis

  • Use positive engagement, DBT- and CBT-informed approaches alongside medication to promote recovery

  • Carry out dynamic risk assessments and support safe, least restrictive practice

  • Act as a named nurse, coordinating care plans that are truly co-produced

  • Champion both mental and physical health wellbeing

  • Support patients to regain independence, structure and confidence

This is an excellent area to begin your career and each year, we welcome a number of newly qualified nurses to our team and support them in developing their skills and confidence as a nurse.

This is also an exciting opportunity for nurses working in other settings who would like to utilise and apply their skills in a specialist environment, caring for people with a wide variety of presenting problems and needs.

About us

You'll need strong clinical skills, emotional intelligence and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations. In return, you'll gain experience that will significantly enhance your professional confidence and career progression.

As a specialist service, we are able to provide opportunities to further develop your skills within specialised training such as RAID, Relational Security, DBT, CBT, enhanced risk assessment, and enhanced physical health interventions. Following successful completion of your 6 month probation period, you will meet with your supervisor to discuss your personal development plan which will identify your learning and training needs, so we can ensure you have all the skills you need to be the best you can be in your role.

We know that when our staff feel supported, valued and developed -- our patients benefit too.

If you're looking for a role where you'll be challenged, supported and inspired - and where you'll go home knowing you've made a real difference - Haven Male PICU could be your next step.

Come and be part of something exciting. Apply today.
