Are you a specialty doctor looking to join our rehabilitation services?We are looking for a part time Specialty Doctor to work within the Pan-Dorset Mental Health Complex Care Service providing comprehensive community and inpatient based services to patients.
The rehab service supports people who have chronic and disabling mental health problems that may be treatment-resistant and who have previously spent long periods in hospital.As a specialty doctor you will cover the CRT and inpatient rehab services in the East of Dorset (BCP) locality.
You will assist in the assessment of new patients into the service, contribute to their ongoing management and review when it is appropriate for patients to be transferred back to the general adult's team. You will ensure that patients receive appropriate clinical assessments and ensure that there is appropriate medical input into care planning.

Main duties of the job
Dorset Healthcare, in conjunction with our local Dorset Clinical Commissioning Group has undertaken a review of our Rehabilitation Services in Dorset and secured significant additional funding to redevelop and expand the services we provide.
You will have the opportunity to be involved in the further shaping of local rehabilitation services and be encouraged and supported in developing the necessary management and leadership skills to fully participate in service developments.
As a specialty doctor your clinical duties will include preparing reports for mental health review tribunals and managers' hearings and giving evidence. Providing medical treatment within a model of multi-disciplinary care, liaising with other clinician teams within and outside the trust and liaising with general practitioners and medical specialists with the regards to the physical health of patients.
You will be required to main section 12 approval and contribute and attend the trust journal clubs and multidisciplinary audit meetings.
