Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic, professional Podiatrist to join our supportive Community Podiatry team to work across West Dorset based in Dorchester.

We have a unique opportunity where we are offering a fantastic development post for a Band 5 Podiatrist to an established Band 6 Specialist for the right Podiatrist. You will join a growing service providing quality foot care to patients with "feet in need" in a community setting, working alongside our hospital diabetic foot care services and specialisms in biomechanics with preceptorship and rotation opportunities and an accelerated pathway.

It is essential that you are HCPC registered (or due to be), can work flexibly and are a driver with access to a car for work purposes.

The Community Podiatrist role is a permanent, full-time post of 37.5 hours per week however we would welcome part-time applicants with a minimum of 22.5 hours. Our core hours are Monday to Friday 08.30 - 16.30; flexibility around this can be discussed at interview.

In return we offer a fantastic induction programme and pastoral support, and there are excellent learning and development opportunities, including an in-house programme of CPD, study days and clinical rotations, as well as regular clinical supervision, team meetings and 1:1s.

Main duties of the job

Work as a part of the community podiatry team Pan Dorset and provide high risk podiatry care to patients.

You will be working in GP surgeries, community clinics and patient homes as well as some hospitals. You get the opportunity to be part of a foot clinic rotation at one of our three hospitals.

Provide diabetic care including the identification of diabetic risk factors, undertaking annual diabetic risk classification and the categorisation of patients into the appropriate risk banding.

Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.
