Job summary
Are you a trained Mental Health Nurse with an interest in Adult Mental Health and passionate about recovery? Shaftesbury Community Mental Health Team are recruiting a Community Mental Health Nurse.
The Community Mental Health team provides recovery focused treatment plans for those people with severe mental illness. Experience of working in a community mental health environment would be beneficial but is not essential. You will need to be able to apply the philosophies of engagement and recovery within your work with service users
As a Community Mental Health Nurse, you will manage a caseload of patients and provide a comprehensive, accessible and responsive mental health service to patients and their families. You will be reliable, committed, dynamic, and a motivated professional with excellent communication, organisational skills and have the ability to prioritise work.
You will be supported in your clinical work, and professional development with ongoing supportive supervision together with an agreed programme of induction and orientation as required.
This is a part time post of 18.75 hours based in Shaftesbury and covers surrounding areas. You will need to have a valid driving licence and use of a car as you will be required to assess and monitor patients in their own homes and within other community settings.

Main duties of the job
You will work as part of an established integrated multi-disciplinary team, this team is made up of a Psychiatrist, Nurses, Social Workers, OT and Support Time Recovery Workers with further support of Admin and a Psychologist.
You will provide specialist advice to others regarding the management and care of patients / service users.
You will plan, implement and review health improvement programmes in a range of settings.
You will provide supervision, mentorship, training and clinical support to students and trained practitioners.
You will communicate effectively in verbal and written form. A good level of IT literacy is an essential requirement.
