Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic member of staff to join the outpatients Admin team atThe Outpatients Department, Alderney Hospital. The role includes dealing with a range of telephone queries, covering reception, arranging appointments, managing patient correspondence, data inputting and problem solving.

You will need to be highly organized with excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to delivering a customer focused service. This is a very busy department, and you will be required to effectively manage multiple and diverse work streams.

This is a part-time post of 15 hours per week working Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 12:00 till 17:00.

Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.

Main duties of the job

To work cooperatively as a team to assist in the provision of a comprehensive, high quality and efficient medical records and outpatient service.

To act as a first point of contact, on the telephone or face to face, for patients, visitors and other healthcare professionals.

The post will require the utilisation of good clerical, organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.

Assisting with the administration of Online Support Groups, which involves sending out e mail links, keeping a Waiter's List and despatching the relevant packs to patients.

Creating and printing of Information Leaflets and Stationery and the monitoring of stationery supplies.
