Are you an organised an enthusiastic? Our administration team in the Dorset Wheelchair Service have an opportunity for you.
You will work in a small, supportive and friendly admin team, along with other members of our service to provide equipment for a wide community-based range of clients with wheelchair needs. Making appointments and other essential tasks that are needed so that we are able to meet the needs of the clients. You will work within the team to support the provision of a reliable, flexible, high quality and proactive client orientated service. The role does require attention to detail, proactiveness and strong communication with the ability to prioritise.

The Wheelchair Service Administrator post is a full-time role, working Monday to Friday.
Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.

Main duties of the job
To be front line and first point of contact in communicating with clients and members of the public requiring an excellent telephone manner. Provide and receive factual routine or complex information, requiring tact and negotiation skills, overcoming barriers to understanding with clients and carers/relatives who may be anxious or who may have variable cognitive and physical symptoms and complex needs, also possible language, or communication difficulties.
To manage equipment for peripheral stores, maintaining stock at agreed levels, accurately recording wheelchairs and cushions issued to clients from the Store.
Work independently and as part of a team to complete daily routines and tasks.
To organise own allocated administrative duties in a timely manner on a daily basis, prioritising activities where necessary. The role requires sitting for long periods of time using keyboard skills with long periods of exposure to use of VDU and concentration for administrative duties. To assist in the setting up of clinics and preparing for home visits, which may include loading and unloading of service vans and own vehicle with wheelchairs and accessories as required, independently.
