Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic member of staff to join the outpatients Admin team at Victoria Hospital, Wimborne.

You will work cooperatively as a team to assist in the provision of a comprehensive, high quality and efficient medical records and outpatient service. To act as a first point of contact, on the telephone or face to face, for patients, visitors and other healthcare professionals.

The post will require the utilisation of good clerical, organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.

There are 2 part-time posts of 15 hours per week. The post holder may be required to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service.

Main duties of the job

To work cooperatively as a team to assist in the provision of a comprehensive, high quality and efficient medical records and outpatient service.

To act as a first point of contact, on the telephone or face to face, for patients, visitors and other healthcare professionals.

The post will require the utilisation of good clerical, organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.

Knowledge, skills and training

Essential

  • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent level of knowledge of office procedures
  • RSA Level 2 or equivalent level of IT skill

Job specific experience

Essential

  • Previous experience within a comparable role
  • Previous experience of working within a customer focused environment
  • Previous experience of using IT software systems e.g. SystemOne, E-camis

  • Basic IT skills, normally obtained through practice or practical training OR Demonstrable experience of using word processing , spreadsheet, database and or presentation software to RSA II/lll or equivalent standard
