This job is now closed
Job summary
Are you outgoing, hard working, self motivated and ambitious with an interest with helping people in the criminal justice system? If so, we have the perfect job for you!
The Dorset Integrated Non-Custodial Service supports people with mental health and substance misuse issues, learning disabilities and other vulnerabilities who are going through the criminal justice system.
The Service aims to improve their overall health outcomes and support them in the reduction of re-offending, identify vulnerabilities that could lead to crisis point and ensure the right support can be put in place.
Experience of working within the criminal justice system would be beneficial but not essential, the successful candidate will have a real desire to support people with their underlying mental health and associated vulnerabilities which may have contributed to offending behaviours.
Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.
Applications from candidates that require current Skilled worker sponsorship to work in the UK are unfortunately ineligible to apply for this position.
Main duties of the job
As part of the new Mental Health Treatment Requirement (MHTR) team, you will be responsible for carrying out assessments on individuals who have been recommended for a MHTR, liaising with the team's Psychologist, Probation and the referring agency.
You will work flexibly in Bournemouth Crown Court and Poole and Weymouth Magistrates' Courts as well as in the community and will be required to travel between these locations based on workload.
Working alongside the Psychologist, you will plan the delivery of and evaluate pyscho-social interventions and be responsible for the line management of the team's Support Workers.
You will help to develop the service by carrying out regular reviews and making recommendations for improvement
