Job summary
The Perinatal Community Mental Health Team has an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our team
The ideal candidate will need to have an interest in Perinatal Mental Health, be enthusiastic, compassionate and a good team player. Some experience of working with women with mental health difficulties and children is preferred, but not essential.
We aim to promote a supportive and therapeutic approach where patients and families are supported by a friendly, skilled and enthusiastic team that enables them to move forwards with their recovery.
Main duties of the job
You will be part of a highly motivated and dedicated MDT delivering high quality care to women and their babies, with an emphasis on therapeutic interventions to support occupational functioning. We work closely as a multi-disciplinary team and value learning, having regular teaching and supervision.
A full induction programme is provided for the successful applicant. You will be an integral part of the multi-disciplinary team, providing a high standard of care. A good working knowledge of child and adult safeguarding is essential.
The applicant must have excellent clinical skills, be able to thoroughly assess need and formulate safe and effective treatment plans. You will provide specialist knowledge assessment and treatment within an occupational therapy framework.
Applicants should have a warm and friendly disposition with good communication and interpersonal skills. You must be robust and resourceful and willing to work outside your comfort zone in an environment which can be demanding and stressful.
