Job summary

To work with the Speciaslist End of Life team to deliever a high quality person centred approach to service delivery which always considers people's safety, privacy and dignity using specialist clinical knowledge that is evidence based. To positively support, influence and improve the quality of the clinical environment by the provision of research, audit, and education to facilitate improvements in patient care and organisational development. To provide specialist advice, support, supervision and continuous professional development activities. To plan, implement and review evidence based improvement programmes in a range of settings to drive continuous quality improvement in the delivery of high quality and safe care for patients and service users

Main duties of the job

The key responsibilities of this role include a clinical focus on specialist professional end of life advice, education, and guidance to others through the maintenance of personal professional development and evidence-based learning. Continuous development and proficiency to educate and support development of clinical skills, procedures, and interventions to others, plan, deliver and evaluate learning programmes and study days. Take appropriate action to improve quality standards through clinical audit, incident reviews and responding and supporting the management of complaints, whilst also challenging poor practice and take appropriate action making full use of current support systems.

To inspire and demonstrate leadership qualities through delivery of specialist clinical knowledge and skills to ensure safe delivery of care. demonstrating of personal qualities, continuous service improvements, and setting direction. Disseminate evidence-based practice and audit findings through local and/or regional presentation to professional groups. Participate in the process of influencing policy making, procedures, protocols and clinical guidelines, internally and externally, necessary to support the service.

Take responsibility for implementing policies and proposing changes to practices, procedures for own area and those which impact beyond own area. Support the management of change through strategic thinking, negotiating skills, self-awareness and effective communication
