Job summary

Are you a team player who works equally well on your own initiative, with a bright and cheerful disposition, a flexible attitude towards your work and can remain calm and work well in times of pressure? If so, then you could be the person we need.

We are looking for an organised, motivated and enthusiastic person to join the Incident Report Team. The team is responsible for checking and updating patient safety incidents on our database, making enquiries for addition information about the incidents and ensuring our incidents meet our data quality requirements.

The issue of quality of data and information affects all aspects of the delivery of patient care. Ensuring that information held on the Trust's local risk management system is of the highest possible standard (accurate, consistent and timely) is crucial for legal, operational, clinical, patient safety and contractual purposes. Assuring high-quality data is available for analysis is also vital to good decision making in the organisation.

This is a full-time post of 37.5 hours per week. The post holder may berequired to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service.

Main duties of the job

You will be part of a team which receives and reviews the contents of all our organisation incidents on our local risk management system. You will work in a timely manner to review incidents and ensure the required information is available for the incident. This information varies depending on the type of incident and it's severity so a good eye for detail is vital in this role.

You should have good skills in Microsoft Office suite, and if you have previous experience of using Ulysses, RiO or SystmOne this would be advantageous. Previous experience of working in a health setting would also be helpful, but not essential.

We work to tight deadlines and are responsible for checking and updating incident information, making enquiries with hospital staff as well as liaising with other organisations.

The role is a full-time permanent post which is currently based in Sentinel House, in Poole. We offer robust training for the duties of this role and once training has completed, an option of hybrid working can be explored.
