Job summary

Dorset HealthCare Dermatology Service has a part- time 15 hours per week, vacancy for a Clinic Support Administrator based at Shelley Road in Boscombe.

Working hours 8:30 - 16:30 Thursday and Friday.

Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.

Main duties of the job

The Dermatology Serviceis a busy service which supports patient's county-wide. We are looking for an adaptable and self-motivated individual to join our team. You will have excellent communication skills, advanced typing skills, and exceptional attention to detail.

The post holder will be responsible for managing the day-to-day office-based tasks, such as answering the phone, booking patient appointments, checking test results, maintaining accurate patient records via SystmOne, registering referrals, use of EPR (Electronic Patient Record), booking and dealing with enquiries. Previous experience with SystmOne and EPR is preferred but not essential.

You will have, telephone contact with members of the public, daily communication with clinicians, other Health Care Professionals, and members of the Trust.

Knowledge, skills and training

Essential

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in office procedures.
  • Computer literacy qualifications, RSA level 3 or equivalent
  • Good Standard of secondary education , 5 GSCE English Language or equivalent grade C or above
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Recent experience of working in a comparable role
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal with ability to demonstrate fluency, clarity and effectiveness at all levels.
  • Knowledge of the full range of secretarial procedures
  • Recent experience in a customer focused environment
  • Clear understanding of Data Protection and confidentiality

Desirable

  • Previous experience in NHS/healthcare
  • Understanding of 18 week referral to Treatment
