Job summary

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well established and thriving team working in CAMHS. The position will be 25 hours per week on a 12 month fixed term contract. The successful candidate will be joining a motivated work force that provide a timely, gold standard Autism assessment service to young people who are open to CAMHS.

This is a fixed term role and for those with current NHS service, the role will be offered on a secondment basis only. Please obtain permission to be released on a secondment before submitting an application.

Main duties of the job

To complete assessments on the Neurodevelopmental Pathway within the Neurodevelopmental Assessment Clinic (NDAC). To be responsible for completing and formulating assessments whilst ensuring they deliver a high quality, young person focused service.

To contribute to the completion of NICE concordant assessments, and help ensure that the clinic maintains the highest clinical standards. To form part of the core NDAC triage team, and provide feedback to families following completion of assessment and where required liaise with CAMHS teams in offering clinical guidance for necessary adjustments to care planning and/or transitions.

To have involvement and assist with the effective management of referral screening and waiting list management. The successful post holder may be required to be a point of contact for both the families undergoing assessment, and the CAMHs clinician overseeing the CYP's care whilst they are waiting for/undergoing an assessment.

Person Specification

Knowledge, Skills and Training

Essential

  • Post graduate degree level study or equivalent in relevant profession.
  • Current registration with an appropriate professional body, e.g. NMC / HCPC / UKCP
  • Core professional qualifications such as Registered Mental Health Nurse, Social Worker, Applied Psychologist, Occupational Therapist or equivalent.
  • Knowledge, skills and experience of running groups, training and teaching.

Desirable

  • Additional training in Autism diagnostic assessments e.g. ADOS, 3di or ADI-R
  • Experience working with young people and families

Job specific experience

Essential

  • Experience of working with in CAMHS or related services.
  • Post graduate experience
  • Experience of working with Neurodevelopmental differences

  • Clinical or relevant experience with children and young people who have complex emotional health and wellbeing difficulties.
