Job summary

The Dorset Pain Management Service is a vibrant service, consisting of an inter-professional team working pan-Dorset. We offer individual interventions and group programmes in various locations county wide; these are delivered by two teams across the county. The staff mix includes pain consultants, psychologists, specialist physiotherapists, pain and mental health nurses and occupational therapists, therapy assistants, trainees from various departments and our hardworking admin support team.

We are looking for an enthusiastic new member of the team, who has excellent communication skills, an eye for details and able to work well under pressure. The successful candidate will be enrolled on a Business Administration Level 3 apprenticeship and be supported by the team to complete the programme.

We are looking for full time 37.5 hours per week Monday - Friday.

This is a fixed term role and for those with current NHS service, the role will be offered on a secondment basis only. Please obtain permission to be released on a secondment before submitting an application.

Main duties of the job

The post will be based at Shelley Road, Boscombe and Poole Community Clinic with occasional travel to other sites in Weymouth so applicants will need to be able to drive. You will be working as part of a supportive administration team, spread across various locations in Dorset, supporting a multi-disciplinary team of pain specialists who help people cope with chronic, non-malignant pain to lead meaningful lives. The role involves managing waiting lists and booking appointments and providing a confidential secretarial service to the clinicians.

Employment in this post requires a Standard Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.
