Job summary
Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust is looking to recruit a Telecommunications specialist into the position of IT Infrastructure Engineer within the IT Department to support the growing demands of the Trust. The ultimate goal of this role is to ensure that our colleagues have access to a modern, resilient communications platform.
Are you interested in supporting IT infrastructure in a busy NHS Trust? Can you provide extensive support for Telecoms equipment, consisting largely of Mitel and Cisco hardware? Can you work with a team of staff tasked with managing, maintaining and upgrading the trusts IT Infrastructure?
In joining a busy IT Infrastructure team, you will report to the Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer and whilst based in the Trust's Boscombe or Dorchester office, you will be required to travel around Dorset in support of the duties undertaken.
In the position of IT Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for the maintenance and development ofNetwork & Telephony infrastructure, system usage and development of multi-site platforms.The post holder will provide high level technical input into key IT developments, projects and innovations.
Employment in this post requires a Standard Disclosure and Barring Service check, which the Trust will cover the cost of. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service will be able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.
A valid UK driving licence is essential.
Main duties of the job
Proven support experience of Mitel MiVB, Contact Centre, Call recording and Cisco wired and wireless networks is essential, a good working knowledge of Nutanix, VMware and Microsoft Server OS will be hugely beneficial.As any technology advances, you will need to have a keen interest in developing these systems to support the Trust's IT estate.
Each of these qualities will form animportant part of delivering a vast range of IT services to all members of the Trust's staff helping support high-quality patient care. You will be expected to support the Trust's IT goals, deliver a business class service to over 7000 users and support the maintenance of a secure yet flexible working environment.
Qualified and skilled to the following:-
Experience with VOIP technologies and practices
Experience of Mitel system Administration
Mitel qualifications area distinct advantage
Strong troubleshooting skills
Ability to understand and explain requirements and incidents to different audiences
A working knowledge of ITIL
Not essential to the role but beneficial:
Experience in WAN, LAN and wireless technologies
Experience in Firewall management
Experience providing network security to wired and wireless clients
