Job summary
We are looking for a highly motivated Development Lead to be responsible for the software development function of our team, driving continuous improvement and implementing best practices.As a proactive and experienced developer you will be able to serve as the technical lead for IT initiatives as well as mentor and train the team, ensuring best practices are followed to support the development of organisational projects.This is a fixed term role and for those with current NHS service, the role will be offered on a secondment basis only. Please obtain permission to be released on a secondment before submitting an application.
Main duties of the job
Key duties of this role include:
- Lead and mentor the team of software developers
- Develop and maintain bespoke software for the organisation's clinical and corporate staff, according to best practice
- Promote and implement development methodologies, processes and best practices.
- Collaborate with Trust staff, Vendors and partner organisations to design and implement systems.
- Ensure the team adhere to industry standards
- Continuously evaluate and improve team processes to optimise quality and efficiency

- Educated to master's level or equivalent experience
- Specialist knowledge of information systems set-up, configuration, data entry and interrogation
- Excellent problem resolution and fault investigation skills
- Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) qualification, or willingness to obtain

- Expert knowledge of IM&T applications or systems, ideally in healthcare
