Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for motivated and enthusiastic Staff Nurse with excellent communication skills to work as part of the Wimborne Hospital Outpatient nursing team.
Wimborne Hospital Outpatient Department hosts a variety of specialist clinics, including cardiology, general surgery, and orthopaedics.
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate an ability to provide high standards of nursing care which is driven by patient experience and evidence based best practice. The successful candidate will also be required to demonstrate good leadership qualities.
The successful candidates will be dealing with both staff and patient issues, therefore will need to be able to demonstrate enthusiasm and motivation, excellent team working skills and forward thinking.
Experience of working for the NHS is essential.
Main duties of the job
To act up in the absence of senior staff.
To supervise junior staff in training.
To assist in the training of nurse learners and other grades of staff.
To work flexibly to meet the needs of the department including covering annual leave and sickness absence.
To work as a member of the Outpatients Team as a competent practitioner.
To facilitate a high standard, efficient and friendly service for patient attending Clinics in the outpatient department.
To maintain a safe working environment.
To meet service objectives and work within the operational policy
Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.
