Looking for a new challenge? The Dorset Eating Disorders Service has an opportunity for a Specialist Practitioner to join their new team in the Adult Eating Disorders Intensive Treatment Team.
The Adult Eating Disorder Intensive Treatment Team is a unique Pilot aiming to prevent admission by providing intensive specialist eating disorders support for patients and their families with severe eating disorders who have been referred for inpatient care. You will offer specialist support for up to 3 meals/snacks a day at the patients home, as well as addressing the impacts of this on the patient and families.
As a Specialist Practitioner you will hold your own caseload, assess, plan and implement evidence-based interventions and care to promote recovery from eating disorders. You will work closely with all other members of the multi-disciplinary team and supervise the Mental health Support Workers, as well as ensuring the collection and reporting of outcome measures.
This role is a 12 month fixed term or secondment based out of St Ann's Hospital. The service covers 7:30am-7:30pm, 7 days a week, with a range of flexible shifts available. Due to the service being county-wide you will be expected to travel so driver is essential, we welcome full or part time applications.
This is a fixed term role and for those with current NHS service, the role will be offered on a secondment basis only. Please obtain permission to be released on a secondment before submitting an application.
Main duties of the job
You will establish and maintain strong links with GPs, inpatient units and adult mental health, thereby ensuring seamless short, medium and long term care planning for both medical and psychological care and treatment of each individual patient.
A key secondary role is in liaison and joint working with other professionals, including general practice and adult mental health, to support integrated treatment and to widen awareness of the complexities involved in the management and treatment of Eating Disorders.
