Developing excellent working relationships with a wide range of professionals internally and externally to the Trust is essential in supporting the organisation to achieve our short, medium and long term financial goals, which focusses on delivering the best quality services for people in Dorset.
You will be required to provide and communicate in written and verbal form, complex expert advice to the Trust on financial or capital accounting issues to enable the Trust to make judgements and decisions on a range of highly complex financial situations and convey financial concepts clearly and persuasively ensuring that the Trust remains compliant with regulatory financial standards.

Main duties of the job
The position is based at Sentinel House in Poole with a flexible work pattern of home and office based working. Free parking is available on site.
Support the Director of Operational Finance in the carrying out of the day to day delivery within the financial services. Represent the Department/Trust in any local, regional or national meetings as relevant and appropriate.
Liaise with the Director of Operational Finance to ensure appropriate structures and processes are in place for robust and reliable reporting of the Trust's current, forecast and projected financial position.
Meet regular and ad hoc reporting deadlines for reports to the Trust Board and Directors, returns to the ICS and NHSE, and end of year statutory accounts.
Manage the delivery of timely, high quality and effective services to the Trust and its stakeholders.
To foster a culture of continuous improvement both within and outside of the directorate.
Lead and manage the financial services department ensuring that the service provision is in accordance with agreed standards.
Leading the year end statutory accounts process, to ensure all deadlines are achieved and work prepared is of high quality.
Responsible for ensuring that appropriate financial controls are in place so that key financial targets are met.
