Are you a passionate, forward-thinking Nurse looking to join a supportive and compassionate team? The Outpatients Department at Swanage Community Hospital is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced nurse to join the team.
As an outpatients nurse you will be involved in the implementation of a wide range of clinics delivered from Swanage Hospital. These include ophthalmology, ENT, gynaecology, and child health as well as several other specialities.
Excellent communication skills are required as this role will involve the supervision of junior staff members and supporting visiting clinicians with a wide range of clinical activity.

The Outpatient Nurse role is a part-time post up to 20hpw.
We would support flexible working around shift patterns, see below;
Monday to Friday: 08:00 - 18:00

Main duties of the job
The post would suit a nurse with an outpatient's background, but this is not essential.
Training can be provided to develop any areas of specific clinical interest. Professional support and access to the Trust's clinical supervision, in-service training and other developmental opportunities are just some of the benefits of working as part of this team.
Other benefits involve working in a beautiful area of Dorset as part of a busy, friendly team, who are co-located with social services and advanced practitioners which offers further scope for training and development.
To act up in the absence of senior staff.
To supervise junior staff in training.
To assist in the training of nurse learners and other grades of staff.
To work flexibly to meet the needs of the department including covering annual leave and sickness absence.
To work as a member of the Outpatients Team as a competent practitioner.
To facilitate a high standard, efficient and friendly service for patient attending Clinics in the outpatient department.
To maintain a safe working environment.
To meet service objectives and work within the operational policy.
