We are looking to recruit a motivated, enthusiastic and forward thinking Occupational Therapist to join the rotational post, University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust is based on three sites: Christchurch Hospital, Poole Hospital and The Royal Bournemouth Hospital and offers the opportunity to work on acute inpatient wards and assessment units; outpatient clinics, rehabilitation facilities, and in the community which includes intermediate care and longer term community rehabilitation, through the rotational partnership with Dorset Healthcare University NHS Foundation Trust.

Our rotational posts include a wide variety of specialties including:

  • Acute Care (Respiratory, Surgery, Medicine and Intensive Care),
  • Older Persons Medicine (Admission Avoidance, Short stay, Rehabilitation and Day Hospital),
  • Musculoskeletal (Elective Orthopaedics, Trauma Orthopaedics)
  • Neurotherapy (Stroke Unit and neuro rehab)
  • Rehabilitation: inpatient community hospital; home-based community therapy
  • Paediatrics

Main duties of the job

A full driving license and access to a car is essential. Working patterns will vary dependent on rotation, some including 7 days working.

  • A one-year post graduation Preceptorship Programme
  • A wide range of experience in rotations available across Acute hospital sites, and into the community through our collaborative partnerships and Discharge to Assess pathways.
