We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join the Shaftesbury Integrated Community Rehabilitation Team.
The post involves assessment and treatment of patients in both community and inpatient settings to prevent hospital admissions, promote earlier hospital discharge and rehabilitate a wide variety of conditions including: orthopaedic, neurology, respiratory and elderly care. The community caseload is mixed and varied, offering a wide variety of pathologies and conditions to treat and rehabilitate.

Training is available to help you to develop any areas of specific clinical interest. You will be working in a beautiful area of Dorset as part of a friendly team who enjoy a regular cake friday! we are co-located with social services, advanced clinical practitioners, and mental health colleagues, which offers further scope for training and development.
This is a full time role, but we would consider flexible working or job share.
The days of work can be flexible, to be discussed. Working does include being part of a monthly rota at weekends and bank holidays.
Main duties of the job
To provide Occupational Therapy assessment and treatment to people in their own homes, care homes or on Community Hospital wards, dependant on Locality.
To provide a high quality person centred approach to care delivery which always considers people's safety, privacy and dignity.
To provide specialist care and interventions, assessments, treatments and managing patients on a caseload, as part of the wider multi-disciplinary care team.
To provide specialist advice to others regarding the management and care of patients / service users.
To devise specialist programmes of care for other professionals to deliver and ensure they are delivered appropriately.
