Job summary

We are seeking a Ward Clerk for the In-patient unit of Waterston Ward, Forston Clinic.

Waterston Ward is an 18 bed Mixed Acute Assessment Ward, providing treatment and care for a wide range of mental illnesses. The age of the patients ranges from 18 to 64.

Main duties of the job

For this post you will need to have strong administration and organisational skills to support the multi-disciplinary team with the ward's administrative tasks. You will need to have previous office-based experience, be self motivated, organised and a good communicator. You should be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and have a can-do approach towards meeting the needs of the team and the patients.

This is a part time role, working 22.5 hours per week.

You will be required to undertake a Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression course and it is a condition of your employment that you successfully complete all aspects of this course; if this is not achieved you will not be able to commence working in the post.

Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.

  • Able to produce high quality word processed material including letters, reports, electronic record entries and minutes
  • Previous relevant experience of working in NHS administration settings
