Job summary

Are you a compassionate individual looking to work in an outstanding rated Trust? Stanley Purser Ward, based at Swanage Community Hospital are looking for a Health Care Assistant to join their experienced team.

As a Health Care Assistant, you will be working alongside an experienced multi-disciplinary team. We are offering skills such as venepuncture and blood pressure monitoring and develop knowledge around end of life care. We pride ourselves at providing the best care to patients and their families in Our Elderly Rehabilitation unit.

We offer a structured induction programme and further career development including the opportunity to develop into a Band 3 position. After a year of service there are opportunities to explore enrolling on the Trainee Nursing Apprenticeship & the Registered Nursing Degree Apprenticeship. We have flexible family-friendly working patterns, pastoral support and the chance to be part of a supportive, high performing team of healthcare professionals.

We have a variety of flexible shifts listed below.

Early - 07.30 - 15.30

Late - 12.30 - 20.30

Nights - 20.15 - 07.45

Weekend and public holidays at enhanced pay!

Main duties of the job

Stanley Purser Ward at Swanage Community Hospital is a 15 bedded unit set within our 125 year old hospital, however we are very progressive in our approach to nursing our patients. The successful candidate will have

Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.
