Job summary
The post holder will play a key role in developing, maintaining and evolving the Trust's data warehouse and corporate business intelligence and reporting software to support the provision of a centralised information source, team/location performance and business intelligence.
The role will require ensuring the team's core functions are to develop, maintain and enhance the Trust's business intelligence capabilities, support controlled standards and provide robust reporting service and access of central submissions and information on which the organisation operates.
The post-holder will be responsible for maintaining and monitoring the data warehouse ensuring high availability for end users and analysts and continued development.
The post holder will liaise with third party suppliers and staff across all levels of the Trust in the planning, design, and development of highly complex software solutions and preparation of complex reporting requirements systems. This will require ability to analyse, interpret and resolve highly complex problems, covering a wide range of clinical and business areas including at a national level
Main duties of the job
Provide expert advice, guidance, techniques and technical solutions to enhance the Trusts Business Intelligence solutions.
Maintain technical, professional and specialist knowledge and understanding -and be competent in the use of a wide range of specialist software packages and programming languages including but not limited to Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL, SQL Server Reporting Services, SQL Server Integration Services and SQL Server Analysis Services, Microsoft Power BI, Microsoft SharePoint, Performance Point, Excel and Power Pivot
Contribute to the design, development and improvement of Business Intelligence solutions and manipulation of relevant data sources.
To manage specifications and to coordinate with the Information and Applications Teams in the development of statutory returns, standard and bespoke reports utilizing data warehouse and data feeds.To ensure all required data is available in the Trust data warehouse and to manage the specification and coordinate the development if not.Be responsible for active maintenance of the data warehouse ensuring integrity, consistency and relevant documentation. Ensuring smooth operation of ETL processes and high availability of Business Intelligence infrastructure.
Participate in the development and strategy for data migration when changing providers or decommissioning legacy systems ensuring continuity of service. Lead in development of data warehousing capability and ensure effectiveness of its establishment/ creation.
