We have a band 6 post available at Heatherwood Hospital in our elective Orthopaedic theatres. This is the ideal opportunity for you, if you are an experienced and skilled Orthopaedic Theatre Scrub Nurse or ODP in elective surgery. You will be part of an exciting initiative for Frimley Health NHS Trust and our users.

Main duties of the job
We have a vacancy for a band 6 practitioner. The department is looking for an enthusiastic band 6 Theatre Practitioner with Orthopaedic experience to join our team as we transition into our new hospital with state of the art facilities focusing on the delivery of outstanding patient experience and care.
You will be expected to use your excellent clinical skills supported through evidenced based knowledge and to actively contribute to service development, identifying opportunities across the perioperative pathway.

- To work according to the NMC Code of Conduct (2008)/ HCPC Standards of Conduct, Performance and Ethics (2008)/HCPC Standards of Proficiency for ODPs (2008). Trust policies and professional guidelines
- To be responsible and accountable for the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care without supervision for a defined group of patients
- To lead and monitor the performance and standards of care within the theatre team
- In conjunction with the Band 7 team leaders, facilitate the development of the service and personal development of all staff within the clinical area of responsibility
- To deputise for the Band 7 team leaders in their absence, attending appropriate meetings, maintaining an organised and structured workforce
- To lead the day to day operational requirements of the Orthopaedic theatre team ensuring efficient use of theatre utilisation whilst maintaining a safe environment for patients and staff.
